Lancia Beta

The Beta was not extensively rallied by Lancia, but served as a stop gap between the Fulvia 1600HF and the Stratos.

These cars were fitted with a 1756cc engine prepared by Abarth, fitted with a 16v head and gave 205bhp.    The cars served their purpose and scored valuable championship points and were also used to experiment with power steering systems and water cooling systems for brakes.

Success was limited to a 3rd in the Swedish Rally, 11th in the RAC, 2nd in the Canadian Rideau Lakes and 4th in the 'Press on Regardless' Rally.
